Re: Rover 200 R3 and Rover 25 Steering Racks

They're quite different and not easily interchangable. The R3 uses basically the R8 steering rack which features an unusual, and therefore expensive to produce, 'valve under' design with a 'Positive Centre Feel' C-spring arrangement. The 25 rack design did away with the PCF feature and moved to a mo...

CANCELLED: The Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with Discovery: NEC Birmingham. 7th to 9th August 2020

Unsurprisingly the organisers have now cancelled the rearranged date in August.

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show with Discovery (its full name!) at the NEC is still planned for November and we expect to have a club stand.

Re: Coupe Rear Quarter repair panels group buy.

Does anyone know if there is any news on the next batch of quarter panels and sills ? There was a post on the FB site a few weeks ago that got taken down, everything seems to have gone a bit quiet since then though. Best look here - https://forum.rover-coupe.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=34943&p=300217&h...

Re: What is my car trying to tell me?

I think I'd better do tonight's lottery as the fob battery is changed, the CDL locks and unlocks without chattering and the car has started twice, first time :laughing2

Re: What is my car trying to tell me?

How old is the fuel in the tank, John? And how much fuel is in there? If it is a few months old, it could already be past it's 'best before date'.....! Half a tank of new 'good stuff' so it's not gone off. If course the car cranked, started and ran fine yesterday without any throttle :laughing2 Tha...

What is my car trying to tell me?

Both of these may be related to how much less use the car is getting in the last couple of months but it does get a run every few days... My R3 Vi has twice, when starting from cold (c.10degC ambient), cranked, fired then died. It did this a couple of times before I applied a little throttle then it...

Re: Hello everyone!

:welcome

We'll try and help find the car you're looking for. Cherry Red does look good in the sun but usually so it'll look great in Portugal.

It looks a bit too brown when in the shade imho - that might explain why it didn't sell well in the UK :laughing2

Re: Rover Group Marketing/Advertising 'find'

I don't think I've posted this photo before.... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49897922602_f1c3f3bedf_3k.jpg This is the video library recovered from a lockup in Leamington last year. It was put there in about 1998 for safety as the Marketing Department were moving from their home on the Canley...

A bit more online R8 love :-)

Came across this today - https://not2grand.co.uk/not-2-grand-car ... -rover-r8/ - by Chris Pollitt.

Most of the photos were taken at the R8 30th Anniversary Press launch re-run which Chris attended

Re: Regional meet

How about I raise the stakes. Come to RR, we have a reasonable size car park and I can get some more eka codes issued. We are also out in the country and I can arrange for a nice little round trip as a post meet cruise. Negatives, oop north..*laughs* It's the new 'Carfest North' and 'Carefest South...
