Christ, I hope he's ok. I've been in a couple of light smashes, and even rolled a landrover once, but nothing as bad as that.

I think it depends whether the engine in your R8 is honda or K-series, as I think they had different gearboxes - dont quote me on this though!

Will get the haynes book of lies out later and see what types of gearbox were fitted.

I imagine it would fit though.........

I agree! The R8 does handle very well, even the base models - could this be due to its honda-engineering, or the fact that Rover simply played an absolute blinder and produced a brilliant car? Austin-Rover didnt always get it right with alot of their cars but apart from the K-series HG woes, there r...

I`d say its the engine mounts for sure. My 214i does it, the top mount by the PAS reservoir has disintegrated on the one side (caused by the leaking reservoir no doubt)
Engine doesnt move much though..... Still, it`ll get done when the clutch goes - next week at this rate :)

On a similar note......

The forum appears to be snowing :)

Emissions on 214i + environmental issues

Hi folks, I`m looking for an emissions figure for my 214i 8v - I think it`ll be 100+g/km or something like that. However none of my MoT paperwork has anything like that on it, and a trawl of t`internet revealed nothing new... So... In these environmentally-friendly carbon footprint-offset times, how...

Once having had to scrap rover 200s ( this was before I got the bug :) ) I found the best way was to rig up a battery-powered pump and a long length of very thin hose to get through the flap and neck..... failing that, pickaxe through the bottom of the tank and a handy bucket. I appreciate the fact ...
