Re: Power Steering When New

Interestingly power steering was never an option on the earlier SD3 200. It was available on the equivalent Honda Ballade but because there wasn't physically room to fit it on the 216 model with the Rover S series engine shoehorned in the engine bay it was felt wrong to offer it on the smaller engin...

Re: Power Steering When New

It wasn't standard on any 200s at launch. It was only standard on the 416GTi at the time of the launch of the 400.

Re: New member

The next edition of The Viking contains an excellent article written by one of our members on 24 years of driving various HH/R models. It will be published next week.

Re: The R200&400OC wins National Car Club Award 2021

Well done to John who masterminded this and did all the running around and managed to not get arrested for carrying an offensive weapon (car jack) in his rucsack on the trains across London and back to the Midlands when he delivered the car to Kent! Publicity like this is great for the club and it p...

Re: OH 3 door 216 GTi's are like buses it seems

Alloys were optional on the 216GTi and many were sold without but most that have survived have had the steel wheels replaced by alloys. Cloth bolsters and manual windows were also standard. Only the 216 Twin Cam and 220GTi got the leather bolsters, elec windows and alloys.

Re: French Polynesia - Tahiti

The original Tahiti blue was a solid mid blue available on Austin Morris and Triumph cars from circa 1974 - 1978. I learnt to drive in my mother's Tahiti Blue Maxi!

Re: The Rover Family/Brotherhood........or not.

My experience is that I get much more response when I am driving my 75 from other 75 drivers than I do in either the 25 or the R8s. Whether that is because a lot of 75s are now owned by enthusiasts whereas 25s and 45s are still largely in the cheap runabout category I am not sure.

I think it's a 25 1.6GSi not an R8.

Re: The most gorgeous Rover garage in Paris (updated)

What a great front for the garage. What a shame that they didn't keep it as part of the building's history. You would have been able to look out of your bedroom window and pretend you are driving a P6 or a 600!!!
