Congratulations on saving such a rare car

The HH/R 400 series is often overlooked and not many people realise how well-equipped some of the higher-spec versions are.

I have a 1.8VVC with 116,000 on the clock and the engine still seems to be in a good state of health: no unpleasant vibrations and doesn't use any oil.

Well, I tried this on my spares donor Rover 25 1.4 this morning and it behaves more or less as yours does! Lowest rpm achievable with the pedal pressed slightly is 1750 and a similar thing occurs when moving the quadrant by hand (couldn't see the tacho for an exact reading!) The car is being scrappe...
