Re: 216 Cabriolet Rear Suspension trailing arm
It turns out that I need a replacement RH Rear Lower Lateral Link for a non ABS 216. Rimmers want £200. Alternatively a new set of bushes for the existing part and a new bolt for the shock absorber would fix the issue. Again Rimmers only have bushes for an ABS equipped vehicle. Can anyone help plea...

Re: Brakes & Suspension
You could fit ZR/25 hub knuckles, then you wont need spacers for the disks to fit the calipers.

Re: A bit of TLC with Turtle Wax Black in a Flash
I'll try. But I assume you know very well how a RHD TB looks like, don't you? Not that easy to take a clear & informative picture of a LHD TB already in place. But you've my word. BTW the only difference I've found regarding a 214 cab, a 84PS 25 & a 103PS 25 is the compression ratio (respectively 9...

Re: A bit of TLC with Turtle Wax Black in a Flash
I did some research, there are different ECU P/Ns for high and low peformance. I assume it was just a different ECU map. If you use 84PS cable on a 103PS TB, there is too much slack so it still wont open fully. Yes it does open fully , you've my word! Wheel being located on opposite side from a RHD...

Re: A bit of TLC with Turtle Wax Black in a Flash
It’s not quite as simple as break the tb and hey presto 20bhp...*laughs* Yes it will breath better but won’t be running 103. You are probably aware of things I don't know and I bet there are lots of them! :wink3 You told me I quote: ' The 84PS has a 48mm TB but is restricted by how far it opens. Ap...

Re: T series 2000 cc Rover engine bottom hose diameter
I can confirm the 'spouts' on a 220 radiator are 28mm OD.
From an EPC search the bottom hose is GRH882, superseded by PCH10092EVA (According to rimmers)
Hope this helps.

Re: A bit of TLC with Turtle Wax Black in a Flash
I'm not 100% sure but i think the plastic manifolds were introduced after the BMW takeover in 1994. Also the alloy manifold has the same 56mm TB as the T16 engine (They look the same side by side) Thank you for that information. What difference does make a 56mm metal IM compared to a 48mm plastic o...

Re: Former 214SEi owner
Hey all, Found the forum whilst reminiscing about my first car, a silver 1995 214 SEi Bought it in October 98 for £5470 with 30k, like a lot of Rovers it had been one former elderly owner so was immaculate. Distinctly remember it been rather fast for being a 1.4 and know it had a similar BHP to my ...

Re: Swooping Alarm control unit on a coupe
The boot lid courtesy light comes on when the boot is open. So is the alarm separate to the immobiliser? Sounds like the boot circuit is ok then. The Alarm and Immobiliser function is all controled by the 5AS unit. On the the early 5AS cars, the car horn sounded when the alarm goes off. If your hor...

Re: Swooping Alarm control unit on a coupe
If you your only problem is the boot, it could be a break in the boot lid loom or corrosion on the contacts within the latch. If you car has the R3 dash it will use the 5AS imobiliser. This will be located behind the dash on the far right side of the bulkhead, a few inches below the windscreen. If y...
