Little update again, done trackday on 9th with MG's on track just to test all the stuff done over winter to see how it all played out. Good to report it's all been a success with the car handling amazing now. The Quaife ATB has absolutely transformed the traction way more than I could have dreamed o...

Rebuilding the PG1 is easy the only trouble I've have with mine and a few of the others I've done lately is getting some of the correct shims for the output shaft and correct thickness circlip for the diff bearings

You need to use loctite 574 then use a roller to make sure there are no lumps etc. If you used RTV you could have blocked the oil ways damaging the lifters or cams/head. The other trouble is the cam ladder and head need to be a flush fit that's why you have to roll it flush as there's no bearings, u...

If this only happened still done the head have you sealed the cam carrier with the correct sealant

The turbo wheels need 3mm spacer too but the 216 GTI wheels clear fine :wink3 trying to find another set for mine :*laughing my fat rear end off*

If you want to avoid HG failure again fit the PRT thermostat unfortunately it is a bit of a fiddly job especially if you have the R65 box as starter is in the way and the difference in the pipe diameter from the PRT to the lower radiator pipe

Shim liners and use the latest Victor Reinz 61-34835-20 with built in head saver or the SIAC gasket from Xpart/discount MG Rover spares.

Unfortunately you have to buy everything separate. I think the mounts were about £150 the bearings for the mounts where about £100 then the over bits like bolts, fitting etc where about another £50ish was long time ago can't remember :D
