Re: Shock absorber or... ?

Regarding a possible mismatch or a damper damaged, I'll know tomorrow when showing the car to my good reliable mechanic. About the type of springs required I asked for neither rough nor lowering ones And here is Ron answer: " Pink is usually MG ZR but do not worry when i am in work i have original e...

Re: Shock absorber or... ?

Thank you to both. But I looks I've found some good ones here for a very decent price: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-200-25-Genuine-Front-Coil-Spring-K-ser-Models-1-1-1-4-1-6-1989-2005/262182921519?fits=Car+Make%3ARover%7CModel%3A25%7CCars+Type%3A1.1&hash=item3d0b51e52f:g:xYUAAOSwnipWaEwv The obl...

Re: Shock absorber or... ?

Oh no John! I don't want any lowering at all. :o
But in case I have to change the front springs, could you tell me if Rover 200 mk2, mk3 & eventually Rover 25 have the same?
Thank you. :)
No breaker around here I'm afraid: so few Rovers are now still driven in my area... :crying

Re: Shock absorber or... ?

Thank you to both of you. :clapping I'll have another look on the springs tomorrow but when I inspected them they didn't seem to differ from each other. Blackish colour but any dust or mud may hid the colour. My first thought was one previous owner had changed the right damper for a new one because ...

Shock absorber or... ?

Hello buddies. I think something's slightly wrong on my LHD driver's side. When I measure the distance between the alloy upper rim and the arch rim I get at least half an inch difference between left & right side! :scared The left side looks slightly depressed when you see it from the front of the c...

Re: Front indicator fitting misalignment

Agreed. Recently I thought it was the end of my list in the 214 cabby mk2. :D No way! I found out by chance that both front speakers aren't working. The only one being the large back one, which was quite good for the front passengers, but my eldest son being sat on the rear seat a few days ago begge...

Re: Ozone Generator for fumigation?

If you can tell the origin of the smell, bicarbonate of soda is very cheap & efficient. Knowing that smells are sticking to cloth, I've removed from a Punto cabby a nasty & persistent tobacco smell that was lasting since ages. Rubbing all the fabric - actually only cloth seats - and it disappeared w...

Re: Will this repair kit be suitable for my 1994 214i cabby

Thank you.
As you guessed the seller told me he could send them both for some more quids. Ticked.
But because changing the bearing looks a very hassle, second thought I've decided to swap only the regulator & the diode bank. It'll be enough.
Anyway I've got them on the back burner.

Nobody has ever stripped off his 200 mk2 alternator? I don't believe it! Here is my old one I want to repair with the kit above: https://content.invisioncic.com/m304542/monthly_2020_12/83573073_20201201_152238-12.jpg.31816341b343cc2666fee664c777d87c.jpg https://content.invisioncic.com/m304542/monthl...

Will this repair kit be suitable for my 1994 214i cabby

Hello chums, I've just swapped my out of order whole alternator for a good used one that charges up to 13.5V: Delco Remy DRA3286 with regulator included Mobiletron Lucas VT-LC111. But just in case I would be keen to keep the genuine Rover one - Magneti Marelli Rover ref. VLE101560 type A-127-65 made...

Re: Is the alternator gone?

Thank you for all your reactions. :clapping Hence I'll stick to a 65A one. I've found a good used alternator with 6 months guarantee in France on a scrappers website called Opisto, where I'd already found a gearbox a year ago from a 1997 216 and I was very pleased with their offer. This time it's no...

Re: Is the alternator gone?

Running should be 14.4v I know. Hence what may be my first port of call @RoverRevival? :S A new alternator? Only brushes? New voltage regulator? :S EDIT : in that case which alternator should fit in my 1994 214i cabby? The present one is 65A only. Could a 75A be fitted? As I'm lost among all the re...

Is the alternator gone?

So I've plug in my smartphone in the cabby thanks to the 3-pin cable going to the MEMS 1.6 ECU. Mems Diags looks great and rather comprehensive. https://content.invisioncic.com/m304542/monthly_2020_11/large.304587430_Capturedcrande2020-11-2214-33-08.png.471842c6eaabed0a8baa9811408a21d0.png Even some...
