Re: Immobiliser

Try checking the switch on the lock barrel itself. Trace the 2 wires from the switch down to the first plug, disconnct it and try shorting the pins that the switch would use. This should help you to see if the switch is at fault.

PG1 Gearbox bearing sizes

Does anyone here know the correct size and type of bearings for a 1994 220 non turbo gearbox?
A friend of mine works for a company that supplies bearings and such. If he can source whats needed, it might be another way to get rebuild kits in the future.

Re: alternator removal 220

I had the same sort of problem when changing my alternator. if you end up removing the whole assembly to get at the bolt, take care when removing the ps pipes. The screw in fitting can sieze to the metal pipe causing it to shear off when you undo it.

Re: FS Rover 220 GSi Turbo

If so much work has been done regarding the engine, why not sort the rot as well? If he expects top price it shouldnt have scabby arches.

Re: Backbox fitment?

Before i got a stainless system on my 220, I fitted the backbox off a 2005 MG ZS for the MOT. All fitted fine, just need plenty of paste as the flange was a bit different.
