Should be aloud to buy back classic cars I believe even if they do have a certificate of destruction on them

That had been on their 'Future Breakers' list for over a month now. I enquired about it and all they would say is that
it was awaiting an insurer's decision. Days are even shorter now to get there and pull what I want! (Manual door cards.)
Their Rovers don't hang about long.

Hmm. Wonder if the weather will be good enough to go up there next Mon/Tue?

Just phoned them. It's on the yard awaiting its first vultures.

I'm going up tomorrow morning, hoping it's not rainy|windy|frosty. Anyone else going to be about?

Are you going for the wings, bonnet and d/s rear door? I'd be interested in those parts but I can't make it until Thursday. It would be good to go for the sub-frames as well and maybe some other bits.

Wings and most of the interior for me, plus bits and bobs around the engine. Engine bay looks mint, so
quite likely enthusiast-owned and I wonder why it hasn't been recognised by anyone here. I'm solo, so
can't satisfy my hankering for subframes, though hate to see them lost. Stuff needs to be dropped from
underneath to free the rear subframe, and I suspect there'll be only two sleepers-worth of ground clearance.
I do need solid doors, but am holding out for Flame or Flame/Tempest, but I sense a chance to get clean
Phase 2 wings in any colour is a rarer opportunity. I'm needing a scab-free Phase 1 bonnet in Flame, so
I'll be leaving this one.

Thursday's due to be Ugh-weather!

Strange that I recalled that a Nightfire 400 was in play last year, but forgot it was me who started a thread about it here!

I paid it a visit today, spent 5 1/2 hours with it, so it no longer looks like its previous photos! I've had the wings, which have localised rust bubbles, but thankfully solid on the inside. The doorcards have kept their colour better than mine, so I had them too, along with the best of the seats. Parts total came to more than I paid for the entire car I'm improving!

There looks to be enough ground clearance to drop the subframes, and their bolts have clear access. The bonnet has no issues that I could see, and I told the desk that there might well be a taker for that before the end of the week.

BTW, Trent's no longer offer anywhere for customers to wash their hands, as the facilities were trashed some months ago.

Not sure I'm going to make it this week but will try. Does anybody know if the 414 front sub-frames will be the same as my 1.6 K series Tourer?

At least the bonnet's a 4-bolt job, quicker than any of mine were! I'm not sure you'll find a better one.
The subframe is plain i.e. devoid of any stabiliser brackets, and carries a bolted-on steel coolant pipe. There's some rust on the leading edge flange, but overall it doesn't look hopelessly crusty.

Did you get there? I looked the vehicle up again to day to help another enquiry - it's still listed as available!
