N486YVE: White 216 SLi (R8) with manual gearbox and 139,000 on the clock. Located in Kent. First mention of corrosion on the MoT didn't happen until last year.

The description says Honda engine but surely a 1996 manual is a K-series
Out in the desert with 2 old Jeeps and a Saab 9-3 cabrio
Back home: wife's 1993 216 DOHC Cabriolet, daughter's R100 and my 1969 MGC GT

The K16 1.6 didn't ever make it into the 5 door bodyshell, only into the continuation 96MY Tourer, Cabriolet and Coupe - so this is a very late Honda D16-engined car.

Although you do get 1.6 K-series engines in the later R8 coupes, Tourers and Cabriolets, P reg onwards.

That's what prompted my embarrassing display of amnesia. In my defence, I'm slightly out of the loop after a decade in the Middle East (still stuck here and missing Rovers)

I work at Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi, doing ground training for cadet pilots. Not the most reliable profession - with the (approximate) 7 year cycle of recession and redundancy :)
