I think the seller is/was a member of this forum :)

Needs rear end repair, usual cosmetic rust as would be expected of an early R3, head gasket problem...... But still a rare car, and it doesn't get much better than Flame Red :cool

It seems a little highly priced given the notable jobs required. I know nothing of these cars and their desirability so apologies if I am way off beam. Just how rare is it and by how much does that affect the price?

65 left (combined tax and SORN) according to good old 'How Many Left'

The 218iS is would be to a 200Vi what a 220 GSi would be to a 220 GSi Turbo. Or the Rover equivalent of an MG ZR 120, rather than the full-fat 160.

In terms of desirability, who knows? No R3 is particularly sought after right now, but maybe in a few years time, people will be asking what happened to all of the higher spec 200s, when all that is left is a few 214i 5-door variants with silver paint and Paisley interiors :wink3

In terms of value, that's anybody's guess. It would probably realise a reasonable return if broken for spares to feed the MGF and ZR community.
