I think a R8 looks better wearing the factory alloy option wheels, but it's your choice :drive1

Remember, if the wheels look too small you can fix this by lowering the car. :wink3

May be a silly question but it is the silly season :laughing2

The tyres currently on these alloys are 175/65/R14 and I want to put on 185/55/R15.

Is that feasible?

If not what ones will fit on there?

would need to be 185/60/r15 to keep your rolling circumference correct, but as a law abiding citizen you drive close to the speed limit anyway and will only knock the speedo out a little.

i actually think the 65 profile is wrong too, should be 60.

No - R14 are for 14" wheels. Prepared to be told I'm wrong but surely 15" tyres would be too big?

The only tyres that will fit will still have to be R14, but in theory you could increase the profile from 65% to say 70% without the car being too unsafe. You can go slightly wider on the width too. It's a matter of finding an R14 tyre that fits.

Any larger than the current ones and the speedo and mileometer will read low, and the car will be less highly geared and will therefore feel slightly more sluggish.

If the tyres currently fitted are definitely on 14" rims (R14) then as Paul says, 15" tyres will be too big - the inner diameter of the tyre will be too big to fit on the beads of the rim. You will need to get a set of R15 rims as well as the tyres.
I have found this site to be useful in giving an idea of what new tyre/profile/rim combination would give a reasonable match to what is currently fitted - http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_size_calculators.html
The comparison tool is midway down.
As an example you could fit 195/60/R14 and would get an increase in rolling radius of about 1.1% i.e at 70mph you would be actually travelling at 70.78mph.

Ok so I have to find R14 but want to make them bigger so could go higher on the first number to make them look bigger is that right?

That will make them wider. If you do make the rubber a larger diameter, won't that visually shrink your rims and defeat your object? (I suppose you could paint a 1" silver band on the rubber adjacent the rim...)

Sorry I meant I want the whole wheel to look bigger within the wheel arch itself as I think they look a little small now but I like the style of them. Unless I can find similar ones but 16" rims I guess. :headbanging
