Replacing Radiator Core or New one

#1 Post by tonyinbeds » Tue Dec 10, 2019 11:31 am

Hi,
My 1600 Honda engined 216 is slowly losing coolant, not a major issue. Given the age and state of the radiator core it look like a few holes have rusted themselves into existence.

Rimmer has this https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001099 I think I'm 2.

I've just inquired with a local Rad specialist as to cost of re coring v new one.

In the mean time was hoping someone has found a 1st class and cheap supplier of such items.... I can but hope.

Many thanks if you have a lead on possible source :blink
Cheers

I have bought one of the Washington ebay based ones new but when they were a little cheaper - they have shot up over the last year or so. I wanted one that did not have sealed holes on the OS end of the rad as mine were leaking/weeping. But mine was £35 but then it was bought in 2016 - how time flies but same chap and part still perfectly in use 20K plus later
NOS one is more money even if no one bids if you include postage so know which I would buy!! :)

Thanks.
Having measured it I need a 522mm width one and looking at the number of fan studs on the Heathfield one it looks like a 400+mm one.
