1994 216 SLi Fuel Flap

#1 Post by edie_fox » Tue Dec 31, 2019 8:41 pm

Hi
Can anyone upload a photo of what the flap looks like when open please? Mine won't shut. I can see there should be a 'cushion' fuel flap release on Rimmers but, I just need to know what it should all look like when working correctly to see if everything is where it should be!

Also, I've not even seen it in daylight to have a good look around it but the noise on the motorway was ....quite some! Seemed to be coming from boot area. Any common issues there, perhaps seals or something? I'm expecting to find a hidden sea somewhere as there is condensation on the inside I can't seem to shift. Oh, yay. :clapping

Thank you!

My fuel flap would not shut last week and it was just the release leaver had not returned fully.

Sometimes the 'Prong' on the flap gets bent out of line & needs gently bending back into position.

Excellent! Thank you so much. :) It's dark now and I'm old and lazy but will investigate tomorrow! I'm not sure if it has that V at its end though...perhaps snapped :glare I'm sure I'll find a way......
