White Gold Cabby - how rare?

#1 Post by 214cab » Fri Jun 21, 2013 8:49 pm

Too much money for the condition - but how rare is this colour combo? Don't think i've ever seen a white gold cabriolet before, i didn't even know they did the cabriolet in this colour but on digging out some of my brochures it looks like they did if for a very limited time (presumably didn't sell well!)

Probably didn't sell well being metallic beige :laughing2

Even rarer as it's got ALB - wonder if it still works.....

I like that! :laughing2

All that rust looks as if it might be very expensive to fix though?

Looks fixable from the pictures but not at that price! Looks worth about £400 tops to me!

Browsing around the Club messages I came across this one regarding a rare White Gold Cabriolet. Our much loved 1994 Cabriolet 216 is in this colour. We have spent a lot of time and money fixing up the bodywork (front wings, rear wheel arches and a 75% respray), the hood (new mohair fitted by a hood specialist in Lymm). In general so far (173,000 miles) the engine, gearbox, suspension etc. all seem to be woking well with only the normal wear and tear. We love driving the car around Oban in Scotland where it is located, especially in summer with the hood down. We decided about 18 months ago to embark on the refurbishment and have not regretted it. We are planning for at least 10 more years of use. Maybe this is the last Cabriolet in the White Gold !!! :D
