220 turbo info

#1 Post by RGNEAVE » Mon May 13, 2013 7:09 pm

im looking for my next project as ive finished and sold my 216 coupe know.

Is the 220 turbo the best coupe to buy for power ?
Is there anything to watch out for on them except the normal.

Im always working on the 1.6 and 1.8 vvcs so fancy a fresh challange on somthing diffrent

also are they hard to find know and whats the price range on them ?

Thanks

leak from between the head and block meaning blocked oil line but is common and not that much to worry about.

Power steering pipe leak at the bottom of the engine is common as well.

smoke and or play in the turbo blades.

Other than that bullet proof

Her she is

1996 N Reg
62000 Miles
Some service history

Please note this car has been stood for the last 10 years A good clean and a new drivers door and shes as good as can be.

Alread sourced the door collecting tomorrow.

There is a small oil leak from the front rocker gasket but everything else is fine on it starts first time and runs well Very quick

The engine is a bit rusty buy she has been stood for so long

Need to get

Rover Radio
New tyers
Window Wipers
1 x rear break pipe

Has anybody got a T16 Engine manual in pdf or can tell me of anyware that sells a book as ive only ever worked on 1.6 Ks

Can anyone guess how much she cost me :D

don't worry about the oil leak that's normal.

Full service and a run on the motorway up to 70 :wink3 in fourth should get rid of a few cobwebs.

A lot of hard braking will clean the brakes off until you replace them (if your going too).

what, £100? Bargain! If I had an opportunity like that I would have to indulge too (even though I already have 8 cars and it would almost certainly cause divorce! :-)
