Rover 200 Cabriolet Hood

#1 Post by Christer47 » Mon Oct 09, 2017 8:03 am

My 1995 Rover 214 Cabriolet will need a new hood within a year. It will go inte hibernation now but in the spring it's time to do something about it.
I could buy one from Rimmer Bros and it will set me back some £2300 or I could buy one from another supplier and it will cost me £300.
Has anyone on this forum any experience from any of the low price retailers? Is the cheap hood OK, will it do the job for some years to come?
Best Christer

Prestige Car Trimming by me do the hood re-covering by me for a very reasonable price, it was about £500 when
I asked but that was 2011 for my old Cabby, is it a full roof and frame you want or just the outer covering ?

I myself will be going for a mohair roof, not vinal, black would be the ideal colour but I might consider grey which
might suit the car better being silver, I might push for a smoked plastic rear screen window.

Thanks for your response, Rover-25X,

I just need the outer coating, the rest seems OK for now. As I live in Sweden, I will need to have it replaced here so if I can get a reasonably good hood from the UK, I can send for it and have someone fit it here. The mohair one is great, but does it last as long and is it that easy to keep clean?
