Rover 214 Catalyst badge

#1 Post by Paul_1978_yorks » Sun Nov 11, 2007 9:49 pm

Saw a K-reg 214 parked up in Wakefield the other day. I noticed that the badge was unusual on the back in that it said "Rover 214Si Catalyst".

Not seen one of these badges before. What engine would it have had in? 16v or 8v? I think only the 16v's had a catalytic convertor. Could be wrong.

Either way, I've not seen a Rover wedge badged up like this before, so assuming it's pretty rare.

It isn't that unusual to have that badge, all of them at that age had them. Our L reg 1.4SLi had one too.

The later R8s didnt, I assume this was the bean-counters at Longbridge cost-cutting!
'92 Range-Rover V8 (SOLD! Awaiting collection .)
'94 Disco 300Tdi (steam-powered, judging by the performance!)

And also the fact that pretty much all cars from 92 onwards had cats fitted anyway as the emissions laws changed radically.
