Looking for someone to repair cabrio hood

#1 Post by richard moss » Sun Aug 04, 2013 8:10 am

Can anyone recommend someone who can fix a couple of small tears in the mohair hood on my wife's cabrio?

We've been in touch with Aldridge Trimming in Wolverhampton after a number of recommendations (including Car SOS on telly) and whilst they say that they can do it their administration is letting them down and they are failing to return phone calls, emails etc. This is a pity because otherwise they seem like a good outfit nd the quality of theirwork speaks for itself.

They looked at the hood when we passed through Wolverhampton a few weeks ago and said that they would repair the small tears using stick-on patches on the inside and would also reattach the headliner whilst at it. We were prepared to take it back down there to get it done but unless they can actually get back to us to confirm a booking then we won't engage in an all-day round trip of 350 miles or so. Perhaps they are proving to be too popular for their own good?

The car is in North Yorkshire so a specialist in Glasgow or Truro is unlikely to be any use - but a reasonable amount of travel is OK

Thanks

Aldridge Trimming got in touch in the end and an appointment has been made to get the work done. I think that their problem is tha they are swamped with work and their admin is suffering as a result. Nice problem to have, though.
