Re: Gauging interest in R8 3 door and Cabriolet rear 3/4 repair panels

Here's one that needs help, along the lines being discussed, currently on eBay:

It's where a closure panel for the sill ends would come in useful, and common with the 4 & 5 door shells too.

:tumbleweed :tumbleweed Disappointed

But by 11:30pm this has dropped out of the 'Active Topics' filter, for me at least.
Perhaps being where it is, this topic hasn't been catching folks' eyes? Would it
be an idea to flag it on FB?

Re: Gauging interest in R8 3 door and Cabriolet rear 3/4 repair panels

May we assume the lower edge extends to the original seam flange face, so that a partial sill panel isn't needed? If so, a pair to resurrect mine, please, plus maybe a pair for the loft! The vertical lip of the door aperture is a site prone to stone chips, so worth having that present. Any thought o...

Re: FS eBay: 1992 216GSi Auto - 51k - Nightfire?/Tempest - Northwich

For comparison, this Phase 2 SLi has just appeared for sale on FB. (For a tad less £.) Seen in isolation, the brightwork on the later cars has always seemed uninspiring to me, and having these two images together just confirms this. Perhaps the coloured inserts on the older version helps the eye tra...

Commercial sale. Looks particularly pretty. Wishful price!

We don't know the exact vintage of the OP's car, which makes it harder to tell.
It might even be an SPi !

Re: How many R8's left - do we have a definitive number?

Quite a lot of fun to be had here!

If this is a snapshot, perhaps the capture date should be added near the page heading.
If you're showing live, or periodically updated data, do you intend to archive previous
captures, so that casualty rates over time can be evaluated?

It's highly unlikely that the required wires were bundled in the body loom branches to the door pillars. Every penny of cost counted!

Re: R8 Drivers Door Checkstrap

Also apply oil or grease to the check strap to reduce the stress on it in the future :wink3 That's probably sound advice in practice, but in theory shouldn't be needed. If you take the business end of the assembly apart, it reveals a pair of delrin (or similar) rollers on opposite sides of the stra...

I’ve just bought a 1991 Rover 214si.
The sole owner had it garages for the last 6 years and it’s only done 24,000 miles.
Have you had to put a lot of hard work into becoming this lucky?
