Re: 9th BL Autumn Rally - Milton Keynes Museum Sun Sept 26th 2021

It looks like I won’t be able to make this now. :sad The 216 has a split cv boot & failed the mot yesterday. The good news is everything else looks perfect (including the underneath! :) ), but the bad news is that it won’t be fixed until Monday. :slapme Someone say hello to the concrete cows for me...

Re: Driveshaft Dynamic Dampers - What do they do?

And an unintended side effect is that they cause a rust point in the driveshaft in old age, which can cause the driveshaft to shear :(

Re: Adding air conditioning to a P-reg 200

GTi John will be your 'method of removal' man............I was a mere spectator when he stripped everything out of my breaker (I was busy removing various body and trim items at the time). Your job may be easier than his regarding the wiring, as the two cars you are working with are of similar age. ...

Re: 420GSI Tourer rear wiper motor

The hatchback and Coupe wipers move through approx 120 degrees, so are unlikely to be suitable.

The later 'R3' 200 and 25 cars have a wiper that moves through 180 degrees, so there is a possibility that the motor from one of those may be suitable.

Re: FS: eBay: 25 GTi £1500 BiN or offer

It was £1500 first time round.

I think the aircon issue goes with old age.......it doesn't work on our two GTis, either! It's one of those "we'll get round to spending £60 at the local garage one day and hope for the best" jobs that we just never get around to doing :blushing

Re: Temperature gauge sender unit for N132LHF

Nice one - thanks! Will let you know how I get on. Is the wood trim on the doors similar? Mine has gone a funny colour under the varnish! No.....from what I remember, the wood strips on the doors have metal tabs on the back that pass through slits in the door card and then bend over. So you will ne...

That'll be Kara, no doubt. She's always very helpful :clapping Unfortunately that was not my experience with her, John. My question: "I recently enquired about some parts using your online form, but have not received a response yet.... My list has now grown to more than five items, so I have decide...

Re: E5 and E10 petrol containing ethanol

I also paid £1.55 a litre for Esso Super (or Protection Grade, as it was labelled) this afternoon. Only spent £8 though: that was more than enough to get a classic Mini to its MoT and back!

Glad to have you on board and there is no need to own a Rover to join up her. You just need lots of enthusiasm!

I am sure the right car will come along for you sooner or later; are you looking for a project, or something that's all good and ready to go?

I am sure we will be able to help you with anything you may need (and you may be able to help us too)

Good to hear you have a Wolseley 18/85S, we had Landcrabs as family cars when I was very young: mainly the Austin 1800, although the last one Dad had was a Wolseley Six.

Re: True, what they say about old Fords

If the buyer has anything about them, they will immediately convert it back to a van and its value will (probably) quadruple overnight.
