Re: Temptation

I have a 1.8VVC with 116,000 on the clock and the engine still seems to be in a good state of health: no unpleasant vibrations and doesn't use any oil.

Re: Rover 600

:welcome We can be especially helpful to owners of 600s who share engines with 'our' cars (so that is the 620ti and 620 diesel) but all are welcome! Also, several of our members own other Rovers, not just 200/400/25/45 and I know some of them own 600s. So stick around and ask us anything you need to...

Re: Hi all

Thanks for the pics :wink3

Looks like a good straight example, ready for a little TLC and a show car in the making!

Quite rare in Flame Red, too: most 420 turbos seemed to have been metallic. And a later (94) model as well, with the Ash interior :cool

Re: Blue 2003 Rover 45

I have recently acquired an MoT failure Rover 25 1.4 and have been quoted £170 by cartakeback.com to scrap it (that is the price they will pay if they come to collect it) However, I am stripping it of anything useful first, so that price is likely to go down :wink3 If you are thinking of trying to b...

You really need to get yourself over to Spain and pick up the black one with the dodgy head gasket :laughing2

You would almost have a full set of colours then!

That's a great save! And it's a shame the Restoration Show won't be taking place this year, because we would have had a great exhibit there with a story to go with it.

Incidentally, the dealer's name on the number plates is the dealer who sold my 220 Turbo new in 1995 :)

Re: Sensitive throttle

Well, I tried this on my spares donor Rover 25 1.4 this morning and it behaves more or less as yours does! Lowest rpm achievable with the pedal pressed slightly is 1750 and a similar thing occurs when moving the quadrant by hand (couldn't see the tacho for an exact reading!) The car is being scrappe...

Re: Clock removal for 400 bubble

Hmmm....I took one out of a ZS recently and it was definitely a 'console out' job but I can't remember the exact details! Somebody else will be along soon, I am sure! Clock refurbishment can be found in the 'Recommended' part of the forum: https://www.rover200.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11063...

2021 Restoration Show: Postponed until next year!

Information received today from the show organisers: "It is with great sadness that we have to announce that, as a consequence of the ongoing impact of Covid-19, Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with Discovery, will not run on 11-13 June 2021 as originally planned. The next editio...

Re: Rover 216 GTI

So, chaps, where does H232YUF need to be, price-wise? MoT history suggests that the sills have been repaired twice since 2006 and the spats were not replaced. It is difficult to see the quality of the repairs in those photos. But in its favour, it is a one-owner car in a good colour (this does still...
