Re: Rover Revivals Revival

Not a problem, just let me know when you are ready. 3 cars will be leaving site within the next few weeks so always looking to fill the space. Thanks Craig - will you be at the AGM ? Perhaps we can fix something up then. I might even dare to drive the 214 down for your honest opinion on just how br...

Re: Rover Revivals Revival

I really must get my posterior in gear and arrange to drive up the 214 and 420 for you to play with ! I've got some time off coming up in November (w/c 5th I think) so maybe we can work something out ?

Re: Dailying an R8 or 45

My fleet (apart from the 214 which isn't covered) are all used for commuting, and they have their pros and cons. I think my favourite commuter wagon is the 420, although as noted above not exactly the most economical in urban drives. The ever present torque means it is the best for negotiating slow ...

Re: 7th BL Autumn Rally, Milto Keynes - Sunday Sept 29th

If the weather was to be more clement I would have risked the little-driven 214 for this, but as it hates wet weather and often fails to start after downpours, looks like it'll be the 420 again. Avid weather watch now underway - I would like to bring the 214 if I'm honest as I could do with some tec...

Re: Festival of the Unexceptional 2019 20th July

J944EWP caught my eye as I wandered around - 420GSi with fog lights to boot, along with the leather interior - is that a club member's ?

Amazing amount of interest in my old 620 too, bizarrely.

Re: 214 SPI fails MoT on CO emissions

Thanks, much appreciated - I'll ping you a PM shortly.

It'll probably be a few weeks before I can come to yours (214 being willing of course !) as I'm booked up for the next two weeks with work, parts collections for various members of my fleet and the Festival of the Unexceptional !

Re: 214 SPI fails MoT on CO emissions

Yup, NIL. The tester said to me 'yeah, it's just squeaked past'. I asked him what the readings were and he smiled and showed me. HCs were 29 so it was definitely working. I suppose when you combine new barely used cat, 15 litres of petrol, a bottle of Cataclean and an Italian tune up it is entirely ...

Re: 214 SPI fails MoT on CO emissions

Gotta pass this morning, well happy.

So, new cat, bottle of Cataclean, Italian tune up, testing station ready and waiting with the exhaust probe.

Emissions this time ?

Fast idle CO NIL
Natural idle CO NIL

Bingo bango :)

Re: 214 SPI fails MoT on CO emissions

Agreed, if I get up early enough tomorrow, I'm gonna lob a few litres of Shell petrol and some Cataclean in there for good measure, and then give it a razz down the M1 in 3rd/4th for a junction or two, before rocking up at the test centre.
