Most of the body panels would have been pressed at Swindon but not at HUM (Honda), but at Rover Swindon that was formerly the Pressed Steel Fisher factory. Yep, Richard is correct. Probably not ex management cars, but cars that Rover had leased direct to large companies and Axial took them in at the end of the lease and disposed of them on behalf of Rover.

Have you tried helping it by pulling it up with your hand as you hold the button. Sometimes the glass sticks to the rubber and the resistance is too much for the motor to cope with. Spray some rubber lubricant in the guides will help. I have to do this to mine after it has been parked up for winter.

Ha ha. Yes, a 3 mile round trip that day! As well as supporting the event, it gave me an opportunity to put a poster on it to promote our village fete!

I have been contacted recently by another member with the same problem. His mechanic suggested changing the carb for a webber carb. I am not sure how realistic that option is.
