I took my electrician out for a meal yesterday.
We had a look at the starters, but he went straight for the mains.

Re: Humour
I recently ran an ultra-marathon in northern Norway.
Unfortunately, I went way off course. A fact I only realised when I crossed the Finnish line.

Re: Front engine mount replacement (Honda engine)
Finally got around to fitting the front and rear engine mounts which took so long to sort a - I fitted the tie bar one some time back and the driver side one looks pretty decent and I’ve not been able to find a replacement for that one anyway. Wow - what a difference! No jerking on and off the thro...

Re: 1991 216 GSi Fuel Cap vented or?
My 216GSi the same too. Sometimes quite hard to turn, and then you get the sound of air as the vacuum is released. A bit like in Silence of the Lambs when they take the bug cocoon out of the victims mouth with a pair of tweezers

Re: Transmission Cooler
I've decided to put a separate cooler onto the front of a manual rad for the box. I've seen these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176376431876?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=vx5-bqcjtr-&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=xvY-6AGLRU6&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Just not sur...

Re: Front engine mount replacement (Honda engine)
When I bought my first R8 I was a bit disappointed with how 'harsh' it felt. I replaced an engine mounting and it literally transformed the car. Hopefully you'll feel the same benefit! I’m getting my hopes up now Steve! Really hoping it’ll finally make it a hood motorway car. At present it’s great ...

Re: Rover 'Mink' Leather re colouring
What's actually needed, once the leather has been restored, is regular "feeding" with a good leather balm, to keep it supple and stop the cracks reappearing or getting worse. Something like Connolley Hide Care Cream or similar.

Re: Front engine mount replacement (Honda engine)
Having read on here about possible causes of clutch judder, I came to the conclusion that the front engine mount on my 216 GSi was probably the cause. Finding a replacement for the Honda engine was not easy, but eventually, by searching eBay using the Honda engine number, I was able to find somethi...

Re: Help with curious noise
Now have to find out why my front tyres go down very slowly. I’m wondering if they weren’t sealed in the tims or if the wheels are porous I had serious rim leak issues on some budget Landsail tyres I had fitted to the front. I thought I had a phantom tyre letter-downer (or someone in the neighbourh...
