Of I was doing that repair I would take out shocker and spring and plate in the turret , weld from the inside then weld the two holes from outside and grind flush and fill .

I have rust in the vertical part of one of the turrets of my 98 coupe. Is rust in the vertical part of the turret normal? Tried the key in the drivers door thing again today and still immobilised. Looks like a new programmed key fob it is!
