Re: Price of restoration
I get that, but sentimentality aside, it deserves to live again it in good condition and if it costs for example £4000 that's what I would pay for a similar mileage much newer fiesta and the rover just a good car to do up and drive as running costs will be much lower

Re: Some Thoughts on the Rover 200/400 R8
I agree with this, it was Rover doing something clever, I am a firm believer the R8 is the best Rover ever. It conquered the market, it was good looking, was reliable earlier on especially. It was comfortable and well built. I like to think of it a under the radar classic

Re: Price of restoration
For me the air conditioning is less important it would be nice but not really important. Power steering and abs are the most important for me. As I feel ABS is for safety and power steering for convenience as I live in greater London. Thank you for your advice nonetheless

Re: Price of restoration
It will be my first car and it will be a daily so I wanted to make it more usable and honestly if it was any other R8 I would be less enthusiastic as this R8 is super special and has significance to my family

Re: Price of restoration
I was also gonna see If power steering and Air conditioning could be retrofitted, it was something to plan big just in case something surprising came in but 3 to 5k was the rough estimate

Re: Price of restoration
For me it's a usable safe car so I probably wouldn't do the level like that, I would use either the original bolts, or just good bolts so oem spec because 5000 is max for the whole restoration. But I think you never cheap on stuff like brakes and suspension and electricals. I would buy new brake com...
