I have just taken a look at the statistics. This is one amazing piece of detective work. Well done.

Re: Driveshafts - ABS / Non ABS Compatibility
I recently removed the toothed ABS ring on a replacement drive shaft on my Renault Clio.
I used a large diameter steel punch to ease it off as a complete part. I guess a chisel would work just as well.

Yep. I recovered the dash wood strip when I got my Gsi some years ago. It had discoloured and the lacquer was lifting and cracking. After removing the lacquer and a light sand to remove any staining, I recoated with several layers of wood varnish. Once sanded I buffed up with a car polish. Looks fac...

Re: Boot Liner Repair
I have used the fibre glass/resin combination to repair several areas in my cars over the years. I tend to use the fine "tissue like" glass fibre mat which gives a lower/flatter profile once cured but in an area that is not visible, like that shown, the more usual mat would be ok. Most rec...

Re: Hi I’m new and from Devon!
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your "new" car. :) :) Mechanical bits (engine, gearbox, suspension) are basically the same as any Rover R8 216/ 416 with the Honda engine and plenty of spares still out there. Well done for taking on an older car as a project, so that another one is avoiding ...

Re: Rover 200 Gti
I recently retro-fitted the rear electric windows to my 1990 216 Gsi. I Sourced all the parts over a few years as they came up on ebay. The installation was reasonably easy. The wiring was already there in my car from the fuse box (below the steering wheel) via the driver's door window switch pack t...

Re: Door membrane adhesive
On my MG Maestro the door card material is simply glued onto a hardboard sheet.
If the plastic membrane is missing, which is often the case on second hand cars, the hardboard quickly gets wet and starts to rot with exciting types of fungi etc.

Yep, as above.
I would take a good look at all the "rubber" bushings, wheels and the steering rack gaitors.
Would be useful to make a comprehensive check list and then work through it.
