Re: 216GSi lumpy tickover and occasional Check Engine light
When was it last serviced? Plugs don't last 24k miles for instance in my experience. Engine running issues for me, first port of call is plugs & air filter, doesn't cost a fortune and at least provides a solid basis to work from. Also make sure that all the H.T leads are fully home in the dizzy...

Re: Coupe fails its MOT
Funnily enough my Turbo Coupe went in for the MOT test yesterday and we stopped at the test emissions due to high CO and lamda numbers... Plugging a Crypton MAS tester into the diagnostics port came up with a coolant sensor fault flag, which I cleared and it didn't come back immediately, but I'm go...

Re: Coupe fails its MOT
Coolant temperature sensor is the usual culprit on most Rover engines-probably a good place to start. You were spot on. Had to have the ecu re-set aswell but it was the coolant sensor playing up. Passed now with flying colours Many thanks This is a really old post, but I am going to swap the ECU co...

First i though it must be the relay on the rear rh side, took it apart and found that the coil has loosend , glued it , worked fo...

Isn't your car a saloon? Don't end up with a "tailgate"!

Re: Hit by a foreign lorry!
Sorry to hear about your incident Stan - from what you say it suggest relatively minor damage. Hope you get sorted as it's a great car. Don't let Copart or similar organisation take it - you'll never see it back.

Re: 25 TDi Under tray
The main purpose of the undertrays is for sound deadening - thus the diesel has a full undertray, and the 1.8 petrols have a partial acoustic undertray that only covers the gap between the front bumper and the front of the engine/sump and gearbox. The 1.4 and 1.6 25/ZR were never fitted with an und...
