we wanted to do something know one else done be for and the idear behind the project was to build a factroy special that could of been built by rover like the mk1 820turbo and fit a complet M16 tickford turbo engine loom and ecu bit of a parts bin raid build *laughs*

Tickford. Cars that go fast and sometimes look a bit silly. Approved.
Not sure this looks silly enough, actually, needs more box arches.

Don't worry, there was a baked bean tin strapped to the backbox by cable ties so its well in there.

Tickford were formally a subsidiary of Aston Martin who carried out auto engineering and testing for other manufacturers. They are most well known for the Tickford Capri in the late 70's and the less successful Tickford Metro. They also developed and partly built the MG Maestro Turbo and developed the Rover 820 MK 1 Turbo fastback.
They are still in existence as a engine testing facility based just outside Newport Pagnell but are now called Intertek.
The Tickford name originates from the fact that the Aston Martin factory in Newport Pagnell is in the area of the town called Tickford and was called the Tickford Carriage Works owned by Salmons & son who built horse carriages and then bodies for cars.
