Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club

hello so as for another question for you legends now this question is personal preference for me but a r8 rover 200 front seats well what seats fit that are lower or can be lowered? i prefer to be lower to the floor as tall and its more comfortable for me. now ive seen forums on it and thats why i say for my personal preference because all those posts just get the replies "the seat are a ok height for me"

The more upmarket models came with a height adjustable front drivers seat, I think that is more about raising small people into the roof though

Allegedly HHR front seats fit a R8, also the front seats from the 600. If you're much over 6' you probably want to lower the seat further?

yh im 6ft4 *laughs* ill look into them its ashame the crossmember is higher than previous cars ive owned *laughs*

The height adjustable seats on a 25 are taller than normal ones, go figure.

Rover 25 front seats will bolt straight in, and if you don't mind stripping the cover material off and modifying it to fit the old R8 frames, you could use Rover 25 rear seats.

Not sure about interchangeability from the later 400 and 45, but if you do a bit of searching on this forum, you may find an answer. Or buy a cheap 45 as a parts donor (see my reply to your other post)

I got half leathers sport seats from an SLi for £33 on a fleabay bargain. Just keep an eye out! Perfect fit too, just needed a good clean.

i have been but mine is a SLi *laughs* its got materieal seats but i want full leather xD

From what I've observed from my motley collection, the lowest standard fitment is achieved with the 'Recaro' range of half leather front seats.

I have a grey cloth set with lumbar adj & height adjustment via a a crank handle at the front of the seat; coupled with the later airbag equipped steering wheel and the fat seat squab, makes a noticeable difference to thigh steering wheel clearance.

Of course I've put on a few pounds over the years

Early coupe seats were lower than the later ones and not height adjustable.
