Now she's whining and moaning

Yep, just when I'd got the crankshaft sensor sorted and it was all tickety boo, this morning leaving for the school run, the car was making a sort of whining sound.
My son thought it was the handbrake, but that was off. It sounds like something rubbing. It rained a lot yesterday but so what!
You can hear it when going at slow speeds, e.g, manoeuvring when parking. I doesn't seem to be holding the car back while driving.

Any ideas guys? :S

Gonna park it up again,

Thanks

The sound is definitely coming from the engine and may also sound like a vacuum cleaner or something squeaking.
Not good anyway.
Got an appointment for a mechanic to take a look at it tomorrow.
BUT, will I need a garage with an engine fault reader to be able to diagnose the problem?

As it's a necessary second car, if it becomes too unreliable, its future won't be bright. :sneaky
