2019 Restoration Show Centrepiece Charity Cabriolet

The club will have this 1 owner Tahiti blue K1.6 Cabriolet at the Practical Classics Restoration Show in March as the centre piece restoration. It will then be auctioned for charity. We'll be looking for help with parts and with the work at the show
The list so far is:-
Replacement clutch
4-off Refurbished Turbo alloys. Maybe 5...
1x 185/55R15 tyre
Trailing arm compliance bushes
Heater resistor
Gearlever gaitor
Cam cover and inlet manifold gaskets
There will be more...

Are we looking to complete all these jobs over the weekend? If we failed to complete any of the jobs, having started them, is that a problem? I was looking at buying one of those trailing arm bush removal/installation tools because I have 2 sets to do myself - if it would be useful for this job too, then it would add even more justification to the expenditure. We should have time to do both the clutch and the trailing arm bushes without the need for any power tools or the risk of dumping liquids on the floor. I'll bring my 4 way folding ladder to use as a lowering/lifting platform for the gearbox if it helps - I found it a very safe way to lower the box and to align it when refitting.

We could try to do the clutch before the show so it's drivable there and back.
Simon is confident at doing the compliance bushes but we might just have a second good set there just in case

Are compliance bushes something different to trailing arm bushes? I can't see anything listed on Rimmer's under Compliance Bush, except for the MGF and TF.
Is it not driveable at present because of the clutch? If it can be driven there, we shouldn't have any problem doing a clutch change. Is it actually all road legal and roadworthy?
Compliance bush is probably what's written on the drawing but they are one and the same.
The clutch slips above 1000rpm so would need to be towed if not fixed beforehand. It looks roadworthy, has an MOT and will be legal to drive in March

It's been suggested that we have a replacement flywheel handy just in case the surface is damaged when we come to change the clutch, so has anybody got a good one handy please ?

Been getting ready for the clutch change planned for next weekend

After (just WD40 and a brush)
We could also do with a better underbonnet pad is anybody has one

I have the plastic holders if they go missing.
Just need to find them again, saw them today.

Duncan got stuck into the clutch change straight away
and had the perfectly adapted piece of kit to make getting the 'box out easier and safer
The flywheel face was in pretty good nick as the friction plate was just on the very edge of ruining it
A happy group after both gears and clutch worked smoothly - many thanks to Duncan Billingham and Jesús Gutiérrez De Quevedo Pérez
