Hello All,

Further to winning the award at the BL Rally at Milton Keynes, I thought I would give you some history into this car - and no I don't mean the FDH Story :rolleyes

I brought the car back in Feb 2014 off a member who was planning on fitting a replacement engine due to piston ring failure in the hands of the previous owner before him. Unfortunately he never got round to fixing the car and getting it back on the road and after 5 years of ownership, decided to advertise it as a breaker.

I was in the perfect position to buy the car in its current state, and restore it back to its original condition with a few personal 'improvements' along the way.

These are the initial pictures when the car was recovered back to my house.

It had been off the road since 2009 and believe the majority of its time was sitting outside in the back garden. There was some pretty serious water ingress/mold growing from inside the car and underneath the car was looking quite corroded.

The interior was the best place to start as everything was intact (compared to the rest of the car), so I sorted out the leaks and gave everything a dam good clean and refitted it all.

I then moved on to the mechanics, Absolutely everything was inspected and replaced with new or refurbished parts - Suspension, Brakes, fuel system, engine, steering, turbo, transmission, bushes etc.

Put it through an MOT and drove it round to iron out any teething issues.

I then started to make the personal upgraded and improvements - Bigger front brakes, larger wheels, Samco pipes, coilovers, battery to boot etc:

Happy with where the car was mechanically, I then wanted to get the cosmetics looking good so the car was stripped down for some light restoration work:

And then a repaint & reassembly:

And finally to protect the paintwork for many years to come, I had it professionally detailed and a ceramic coating applied:

Thanks for looking!

Congrats on getting it to where you have. I'm sure it's as good to drive as it is to look at :clapping

Wow that is a stunning example!
Massive well done for the work that you did on it :clapping
Love the colour!
If you dont mind me asking how much did the full detail and ceramic coating set you back?
I shall be detailing my 216 myself when I get her but am after some longer term protection.
