216 GTi DOHC in Hertfordshire getting...slowly...better

Introducing this retro marvel with very sound mechanicals, a hole in the roof which has been bunged up by myself in an amateur fashion and a headlining which brings the subtle odour of mushrooms directly into the face of driver and passenger alike. However she did fly through MOT after standing for a year with only wipers & a broken numberplate which is a testament to the British and the Japanese. Currently replacing all the speakers, headlining, sunroof, and wondering whether to spend money on the bodywork. Not a page of history unfortunately. We are having fun !

I can see a couple of bodywork easy wins to charge up your mojo - a dent man to look at the osf wing, and a bottle of Autoglym Bumper Gel.

Good luck with the restoration.
They're good fun to drive and most of the part can be found reasonably priced

I've GOT AN OPENING sunroof. I accept I may be more excited about this than the forum group...

Doesn't matter if you drive really, really (really...) fast. What's the top speed of a 216GTi again?

That’s good. My favourite bit of an R8 is the sunroof. I couldn’t be without mine.

This is the second car out of many (too many) that I've owned that has a sunroof and the last one on my skyline only went back about 3 inches then jammed!
I cant speak for anyone else here but when I got in my 216 and saw that sunroof I was beaming! And still am!
Let the rain come i say! :horn
