We feel honoured to have been awarded the 'Best Club Contribution to Charity' award this year for the saving of the mega-mileage SD3 Rover 216
The citation reads "This award will be presented to a club which has demonstrated outstanding charitable fundraising or support for charitable aims during these extraordinary times. The motivation to help is one of the most admirable qualities of our community, the achievement of the winner will be an inspiration to us all and a reminder that we can help others even during challenging times"

Well done to John who masterminded this and did all the running around and managed to not get arrested for carrying an offensive weapon (car jack) in his rucsack on the trains across London and back to the Midlands when he delivered the car to Kent!
Publicity like this is great for the club and it proves it is not always those that raise the most that win the award.

This is really John's award, but as chairman the club gets the credit which rounds out the last two years where our very positive publicity couldn't have been better. This, Lucknam Park, Jeremy's restored No. 1 in all the magazines and the R3 Story have done it all, really.

Congratulations to all involved in achieving this award.
Well deserved , and as said previously one of many activities/features that raises the profile of this great owners club.

Great story, great save, I had a 3-year old 213 in 1987, sills went beyond repair very quickly, so amazed by the condition of this car.
