214 disc upgrade.

Ok, so the barn find 214 looks like it needs new discs and maybe callipers
It’s the non-abs, so has teensy solid discs up front and drums at the back.
We have some serious hills here, and often upgrade car brakes for customers, so it’s “Upgrade time”...
Just checking, but if I want to go from the standard solid front discs to 262mm vented, them I’m looking for the 262mm caliper and mount from any car (R8/200/400/25/45/ZR/ZS) and the front knuckle from a 262mm equipped R8/200/400/25 or ZR?
For the rears, It looks like all the callipers and carriers are the same for the 239mm solid rear discs on the R8/200/400/25/45/ZR and ZS but I’ll need the rear trailing arms from a rear disc brake equipped R8,400,45 or ZS?
Sound about right?
TIA, Mike.

The hub/knuckle on the front will need up grading if you haven't got 262 mm soild discs on now if you have new carrier if not the smaller ones are different centres from the centre of drive shaft to caliper carrier bolts so it's a complete new set up . Rear arm from zs or 45 of any 200/400 with them on .
I have a few front set ups complete and rear trailing arm power coated or not with handbrake cable etc if you can't find any .
personally unless your putting a bigger engine in can't see the point , I have a 214 sei stops fine used weakly.

I got 2 now mate but could still be interested depending on price and location. If you try to fit and later 262 disc on the R8 hub with R8 caliper the disc will hit on the brake caliper carrier so just make sure everything you get is from the same car. I only found this out when trying to get discs for my GTi as the suppliers keep sending me out discs for a 25/ZR etc the R8 uses the same disc as a Civic EF/CRX they reckon

I've been away from this for a bit - busy in the workshop.
The specific reason I'm considering this is because of where I live - Madeira.
It's the size of Reading, but taller than Ben Nevis!
Everywhere is on a hill, and there is only so much engine braking you can do!
We do a lot of up-sizing of brake discs and upgrade to rear discs - usually on Land Rovers (which is primarily what we work on), but also rear disc conversions on Smarts.
It's just nice to know what to look for in the breakers etc - as I'd rather buy big discs than small ones!
Also, while this is staying a 1.4 for now (If I ever get round to fixing it), we might have a 1.8 Elise engine tuning project - so the little 214 might be a nice test bed, and need more stopping power...
