Fitting immobiliser switch

Hi All,
Got the Cabbie out of Winter hibernation today & had a problem starting.
Put on fully charged battery & no ignition lights on dash on position 2 & would not crank. Attached jump leads & got flashing/dim ignition lights. Got it started it ran for a bit & died, it would then start & die each time. Removed shroud & 'fiddled' with ignition barrel switch assembly, full on lights, start & run. Fiddled again car died, it seems the fault is in the ignition switch, all is fine when pressure is applied to the rear of it.
So I'm thinking of bypassing position 2 by using a separate switch, as you would when fitting a DIY hidden immobiliser switch.
I'm being lazy & asking if anyone can tell me the wire colours I need to use to do this, Obviously one is feed in & one is feed out after the ignition assembly.
Thanks in advance.
