The Heat

The temperatures are forecast to hit close to 40 C or 100 F on Monday & Tuesday. These are temp's in the shade!
Living in South Glos for the past 20 years I 've had to contend with some very unpleasant high temp's in the past.
So some well meaning advice for those of us living further North who may well not have experienced this sort of heat in the U.K
If your in all day then keep the curtains closed to keep the heat out [windows fitted with K Glass let the heat in
] where the sun bears directly onto a window keep the window shut, this stops the brick heated air from entering.
Only open windows on the side of the house in shade, this does make a difference!
I stop drinking hot drinks and keep a jug of chilled water in the fridge. Take a siesta between 12 - 3pm!
Remember that as you get older your tolerance to extreme heat grows less!
keep hydrated and avoid excess amounts of alcohol!
