Hi All
Just a quick question for anyone that is a spec guru.
I've got a Streetwise Olympic so its based on the S and does not have electic mirrors and i was thinking of adding them.
Now consulting the wiring diagrams in my Haynes Rover 25 and MG ZR manual there are two diagrams for mirrors one for "Electric Mirrors" i assume the normal heated and electically adjustable ones, no probs.
But then there is another one called "Retracting Mirrors" and in the diagram it refers to the things you would expect it be in a folding mirrors set up, like mirror retraction switches and mirror retraction motors.
So i'm kind of assuming they were available as if not Haynes have got it completly wrong.
But the question is are all electric mirrors folding (I doubt it) if later ones were when did this happen and it its model specific which models had the mirrors and from when and did they look like Std 25 mirrors.
Cheers Bean

Re: Retracting Mirrors
I don't believe any R25/Streetwise mirrors were power folding. They are electrically adjustable and heated but only folded manually. Power fold was available on the 75 but quite rare.
As an aside, my daughters Minis, one a R50 and one a R56 both have electrically adjustable but not heated mirrors which I have always found very odd.

Re: Retracting Mirrors
Rover 25 Power Fold mirrors do exist but are extremly rare. As I am aware they were made for mk1. I do believe they were destined for Japan export only.
Rover 45 Power Fold mirror exist as well as Rover 600 power fold mirrors. All of them are extremly rare.
Wiring diagrams for all of them are parts of regular wiring diagrams catalogues.
These mirrors are the same as non folding ones from outside.

Hi Guy's
Cheers for the info.
I'd assumed the electric mirrors on the SE were just heated/adjustable and was surprised to see a wiring diagram for power folds, esp as its a separate diagram so someone at Haynes has bothered to spend time drawing and labelling it.
I was aware they were available on the 75 even though my SE spec ZTT didn’t have them, but was really surprised to see info on them for the R3.
I’m going to see if I can get some electric ones but as it seems like the powerfolds were export only or very rare I’ll just stick to the common and garden heated adjustables.

Just a heads-up. Land Rover Discovery door mirrors from 1995-2004 were re-housed R8 items. Mine powerfold.

Re: Retracting Mirrors
Just wondering if Honda would be a source of power-folds for the 400/45 and 600? Probably not so rare on the Hondas, but as with most people I'm completely ignorant of the trim levels and what to look for.

So here’s a Discovery power fold mirror. Are we saying this would fit the R8?lord sward wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 7:06 am Just a heads-up. Land Rover Discovery door mirrors from 1995-2004 were re-housed R8 items. Mine powerfold.
Presumably work on the wiring works be required?
