Post by StubbornPatriot »

Just wondering if cabby door cards are the same as other 3 door variants? Anybody happen to know? Thanks, Duncan.

The shape is the same on coupe and cabby just the window strip thats different but easy to change , 3 door keep meaning to check .
I have repaired a few now aslong as there no rips I use wood glue (outside grade ) and fibreglass tissue and various clamps then vanish do process but will last a long time .

Here's an idea for someone with a FDM 3D printer - a former to push into the arm-rest hollow on the
back of these weak door cards. It would be plenty strong enough even as an 'egg box' skeleton form.

I just clamp and glue in a flat piece of 2mm plywood and that works well

3 doors have a longer arm rest so they are different.

Thanks Chris. Still trying to replace the GTi driver's side card which has a torn arm rest. There are some cabby ones for sale that look the same colour, so I was hoping they'd be the same. Oh well, keep searching. Cheers, Duncan.
