Good afternoon,
I'm considering a tow bar for the Cabriolet, having taken everything out of the boot I found this number on the nearside above the chassis rail area:- 2B336J 0059754
It's not the VIN, could anyone please shed any light please?
Thanks

That'll be the body sequence number, which was assigned to the bodyshell during the assembly process in West Works and before paint.
It is necessary to have a reference number so that if any problems are recognised, such as a faulty weld gun, a 'good after' number was needed and a sweep performed between that and the previous good number.
Destructive tests were performed on several critical sub-assemblies pulled from the line to check but production continued while the checks were done. Failure was very infrequent, as you can imagine, otherwise you have to rework, or lose, a lot of bodies!
The VIN stamp was applied on the CAB1 assembly line and the body becomes a car
