We would like to invite you to a special event to celebrate the Rover factories in Coventry on Saturday March 16th, from 9am until 3pm.

Rover occupied several sites in Coventry from the late 1800s to the 1940s. One of the last remaining original buildings on the 2nd Meteor site, is the Rover Showroom on Warwick Road, which opened in 1910, and it is still due to close for redevelopment at the end of March this year, so this is probably the last chance before the area is inaccessible.

With the help of the organisers of Coventry Motorfest, you are invited to join the large collection of all later generations of Rover cars, based in Broadgate, in Coventry city centre.

To attend this event in your Rover, pre-booking is necessary. This is where you can book your place - https://www.coventrymotofest.com/breakiefest-bookings/ There is a small £3 fee to help with MotorFest's administration costs.

There will also be a collection of cars built at the 2nd Meteor Works (pre-1930) in the Bull Yard, next to the original Rover showroom.

If you happen to also own a pre-1930 Rover and would like to take part in the Bull Yard display, please PM me. If you know of somebody else who does, please get them to email me at john.batchelor@rover200.org.uk

The showroom building is now called the Litten Tree Building. This is a short history video of the building - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsbMI_uEozY

There will be tours of the Litten Tree Building during the day. More details will be available shortly

The short notice for the event is a result of changing plans for the redevelopment of Coventry's Lower Precinct.

We'll aim to park club vehicles together and, yes, we should be able to have club flags :cool

This event starts at 8 am till 12:30 pm so really rules out anybody travelling any distance; I was thinking of coming, but will require a overnight stay.

I'm thinking of coming up for this, is it better not to use a sat nav to find this location, rather like the museum? :)

I will be there in my grey 216, I'm staying at the Old Mill, Mill Hill, just South of the inner ring r'd the night before if anybody will be around for a drink?
:D

As part of the booking in process, they give directions so i suggest you print them off before you leave home. I wouldn't rely on Sat Nav in this instance.

Exciting news for the display of pre-WW2 Rovers in the Bull Yard - this 1907 20HP Tourer will enjoy a day out from the British Motor Museum and return to the place where it was built.

This is an event you don't want to miss, as we won't be able to run it again...
