Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club

New here, obviously,.
Having real difficulty in finding a direct replacement drivers seat for my 2001, 3 dr 25.
Does anyone have one by chance, or are there seats from a different car that I might swap in
Otherwise, how difficult is it to repair a broken back to squab connection?


I'm in West London, so do not want to travel too far, but want to keep the car on the road

Welcome to the forum

Seats from any other R3 Rover 200 will be a straight swap - ie. Mk3 Rover 200, Rover 25, Rover Streetwise or MG ZR (the seat cushions for the ZR and some versions of Streetwise are a very different shape and contour, but the frames underneath them are the same as the 25). The front seats from an earlier R8 Rover 200 or 400 (including the Coupe and Cabriolet) will also bolt straight in, but will probably be even harder to find than Rover 25 ones now.

I am pretty sure that seats from anything else would need surgery to the frames to get them to fit - even the early HHR 400, 45, and MG ZS - later ones (in the ZS at any rate) were the same as the 75/ZT, so would be physically too wide to fit in the space available in the R3.

Thanks for the info, but even 200 seats seem to be like hen's teeth in my neck of the woods, or more expensive than who knows what?

What is the exact problem with your existing seat?

Is the backrest partially detached from the base?
Will it not lock in the upright position?
Does anything appear to be obviously bent or broken?
