can anyone please tell me the procedure for entering the radio code on a rover radio with a cassette player it is a rover 200 on a s plate

Try www radio-code.co.uk, if you can get the radio out you can match the serial number on their list, and then follow the instructions

Not sure on what radio you have, but try using the scan/search button to go up and down the number and then press preset 1 to store the number, then repeat for the next 3 numbers.
