Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club

This is my first Rover. only done 46,000 miles from new. no rust, service history and K&N induction kit

I maybe selling this sometime soon, due to my accident a few years ago and damged my spine. it does seem alittle low for me to get in and out off.

Whats up with the inlet plenum? Looks like its at a funny angle, or are they all like that?

Nothing is wrong with it, Just the way it is.

is there anyway of getting more power out of the 1.4? Ive got a K&N induction kit.

And can I uprate the head gasket? Just so I know it'll not fail etc.

The 1.4 16v MPi is a pretty high power motor for its size anyway, even by todays standards! So you aren't going to get a lot of extra power out of it without spending a lot of cash and if you were going to do that you may as well get a 1.6 or a 1.8 instead.

Usual mods are air filter and exhaust followed by a 4-2-1 manifold too if you are feeling flush. Don't expect more than a 5-15bhp increase and you'll not be disappointed.
