Has anyone had their screen replaced recently?
Mine is coming out whilst in the bodyshop so I need to source a new one.
Being as I am intentionally taking it out I guess I can't use the glass cover on my insurance?
Just wanting rough prices, mine has a blue tint.

Mine would have been £450 with the blue tint across the top according to the company who replaced mine on insurance last year but that was for the Coupe. They said that was the only one left in the UK, the next nearest was in Belgium

Check a claim for windscreen doesn't affect your NCB, then let a brick find its way through the windscreen ;)

It is being removed by the bodyshop so can't claim on the insurance

I had mine replaced a couple of months back, cost about £170 fully fitted with the blue tint at the top from RAC auto windscreens. Autoglass wanted about £350!
Just ask them to save the plastic side strips when they take them off - they were about £60 each! so I got the windscreen guy to stick them back with a couple of blobs of the window mastic stuff as a couple of clips snapped when he took them off.

That shouldnt make any odds if its already removed its easier for the windscreen guys!Look in your yellow pages and find a small independant windscreen company and if you happen to know anyone very well with good fully comp insurance Im sure they would give you some advise!!

Claiming on your fully comp insurance, will not affect your no claims discount.
Give your insurance company a ring, and see what they say.
Excess is normally £50 or £60.

I have 3 chips in mine and belive 1 will be a MOT failer. Im currently only 3rd party as the car is normally only sitting in the garage. Ill go fully comp and get it fixed that way if it wont effect my no claims.

After I had my windscreen replaced I got a large chip right in the drivers line of sight! Not wanting to pay out for what the windscreen companies wanted for the chip repair I had a look around and found a product called crackattack, was quite skeptical at first but after following the product instructions the chip is now mearly a small scratch on the windscreen surface and not visible unless you really look hard! ( no mention of the repaired chip on my MOT.)
May be worth a try if your not fully comp (like me), think it cost about 20 quid for the repair kit but has everything you need and would be enough to do many repairs.
