Hi guys & gals.
Here's my modified Rover 420 sli.
She's on a 95 plate, done almost 150k, I've had her for almost 7 years now.
Recently purchased a front bumper with fog light sockets in, but have yet to find some good front fog lights to go in it!.
I have customised a lot of the interior, and added a lot of bits over the last couple of years.
The car will be entered into a " Best lit car " competition this year.

thanks

Cheers fatdave.
Your right, not many people look at these cars with a view to modifying, I took a chance myself, and think its come out reasonably well.
I do have more modifications planned for 2012, and will attend this years Mod-nats with a new install too.
cheers .

Hi carl747.
Thanks for your comment, Boot build didn't take me too long to do, the whole interior took me about 8 weeks.
This is a competition car now, so I have added more since last year, including false floors in the rear foot well's, along with a new white roof lining.
cheers.

COOL CAR!! & a ROVER!!

Seriously Folk's,although it might not be everyone's "Thing" or bit overtop for some people.......It's a SHOWCAR & different from other car's of this type of custom car,it's a ROVER!

This take's me back to my root's when i was younger involved in the Custom & Rod scene.

So...i appreciate the time, effort, thought & expense that has gone into this car

Although,i have "kitten's" everytime i park up My Standard "SHOWCAR" in supermarket car park's
(As she "rosie"

is our everyday car!)

Also...being one of the best example's of her year & model SHE can't be insured under the Owner's Club Scheme!!?? (Had to have another dig about this subject again!:cursing )

PHIL.

Thanks Phil, your comments are very much appreciated .
A lot of people discard the r8 saloon as being a modifiable vehicle, and as such its common to be overlooked, except for the coupe/hatch. I like the incognito that the saloon offers
I still get snubbed every now and then when I turn up at meets, but then people whistle a different tune as soon as they see what the car has to offer when the doors are opened, then curiosity gets the better of them and they soon appreciate what else is in the car.
It's only once a year that graphics/vinyl are applied to the car in preparation for the annual Mod-nats, the rest of the year the car retains as close as possible to standard from the outside, at least this way it comes as more of a surprise to people when they see the car roll up.
Another bonus is that I haven't actually modified a great deal of the original car itself, everything can be restored back to standard , and I always keep a few spares even though I have a fantastic local scrap yard with loads of 200/400's in stock.
I recently changed the windscreen myself no thanks to the lame condition of our roads, I wasn't going to claim on the insurance, not after a local scrapyard sold me 2 windscreens for 15 quid!!!!!, All good.
It would be nice to come to some of the events during this year and meet some of you or if you have any local meets , I would be happy to bring my car down for y'all to have a look.
Thanks again for your posting phil.
Cheers for viewing guys and gals.

when you mentioned you went to mod nats in Peterborough i thought maybe you lived in or not to far from the lincolnshire area. theres a couple of shows in the lincs area im hoping a few members want to attend but mid wales is probably a bit far.

Hi there Fatdave.
Yup, I live in Mid Wales !, seems like its miles from everywhere!!!!!!, Peterborough is roughly 140 or so miles from here, about 2.5-3 hrs ish ( depending on speed and fuel prices rising!),
but if there was an event there which spanned a weekend or a couple of days I'm sure I would be interested in coming down for it, even better if there was camping facilities.
Thanks, and keep me informed anyway, and I'l see what I can arrange.
Cheers.

Tell you what this isnt a bad idea - how about a club camping weekend over friday and saturday night?
My old club (Manta Owners) do one very year with the vauxhall association at Biling Aquadrome in Northampton.
They have kids facilities bars, fast food etc and you can if you want just hire a field if you cant fill the venue?
