Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club - 3 Door R8 Tailgate Glass

As per title, just enquiring if you can get tailgate glass for a R8 3 door new still rather than a second hand boot lid and removing the glass.

If so where from please.

My tailgate glass (on the 216 I had) got smashed a few years ago. The only option for the bodyshop was to get a whole tailgate from a scrap car and swap the glass over to mine. This was done under insurance. They did a good job with it.

Just in case you are not aware, the tailgate and hence rear window is the same in a 3dr as the 5dr.

I contacted our club friendly windscreen supplier and he told me that he was unable to get new ones from any of his suppliers. It seems that second hand is the only option.

Thanks for the replies, I have a tailgate now but the glass seems very hard to get out, think the sealant is rock hard!
