The Rover 200&400 Owners Club is pleased to announce the availability of new repair panels for the R8 Cabriolet and 3 door models.
Club Members are being given the first opportunity to purchase these panels at discounted rates but non-members will be able to purchase them soon.
The panels being produced are the lower rear ¾ panel and sill repair panels, which are available in several lengths, and will allow owners to repair the main corrosion ‘hot spot’ of these cars with pre-formed panels designed to make the job as simple as possible. Both hands of each panel are available and, in addition, an unflanged sill section panel.
Tooling has been commissioned with R2D Engineering and will allow for ongoing production of panels to meet the demand for these previously unavailable parts.

The panels are common between the Rover R8 200 Cabriolet and 3 door models but differ from all other R8 derivatives. The shape of the panels has been designed using original Rover panels with the joint lines being as these panels - the top joint is largely hidden behind the side rubbing strip.
These cars usually corrode around the rear end of the sill which then can spread upwards, so may need a 3/4 panel and either a quarter- or half- sill length. If you need to replace the whole outer sill then you'll need a half sill and a sill section. The quarter- and half- sills are flanged around the wheelarch end, and are therefore handed, whereas the sill section is not flanged and so fits either side of the car.

Click Repair Panels at the bottom of the page, read the info and then click on the link at the bottom of that page. That'll take you to an enquiry page which sends an email to our panel supplier when completed :-)

We've just worked out that these sill repair repair panels also fit R8 5 doors, 4 doors and Tourers

After an embarrassing hiatus after realising that the Cabriolet sill are different to all other R8 sills, Cabriolet-unique sill repair panels are now available !
They are plain sections without the end flange. 2 sections are enough for a full car sill length and a flange. We haven't made short sections of these as the 3-door versions have not sold well.
They are priced at £40ea for club members and £50ea for non-members. They are available via the Members Area and on ebay via the seller peasantlife - https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/peasantslife
NB. The price increase from the other panels unfortunately reflects the general cost of living rise since the first panels were produced, so the prices of the next restocking batch of any of those will have to rise too.
